Compliance: DOD 8140\nPosition Overview:\n

The Network Administrator\/Lead Net Ops Specialist will oversee the management and maintenance of the network infrastructure at Fort Johnson. This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational readiness and security of the network, leading a team of network professionals to provide seamless network operations, troubleshooting, and technical support.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nNetwork Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.\nTeam Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of network operations specialists, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to best practices in network management and security.\nNetwork Security: Implement and enforce network security policies, procedures, and protocols in compliance with DOD 8140 standards.\nIncident Response: Lead the response to network incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.\nPerformance Monitoring: Monitor network performance, identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal network performance.\nDocumentation: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and changes, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.\nVendor Coordination: Work with vendors to support network hardware and software needs, including troubleshooting and upgrades.\nContinuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest network technologies and security threats, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.\n\nQualifications:\n\nExperience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in network administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\nCertifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent.\nSecurity Clearance: Must possess a current Secret Clearance.\nDOD 8140 Compliance: Must meet the requirements of DOD 8140 (formerly DOD 8570) for network operations roles.\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in network management tools, protocols (TCP\/IP, DNS, DHCP), and security practices.\nCommunication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team and interact with stakeholders.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nAdvanced Certifications: CISSP, CISM, or other advanced network or security certifications.\nExperience in DOD Environment: Previous experience working in a DOD environment, with knowledge of military network operations and security protocols.\nProject Management: Experience in managing network projects from inception to completion.\n\n
