Network Analyst Co-op

For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. This successful individual will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and learn about networking monitoring tools, equipment configuration, and systems used by various teams at Teck. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PDT or MDT or relocate to a specific office (site-based). You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Salary Range: $3900 - $4900 / Month 

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed. 

Responsibilities

 

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures    Utilize network monitoring tools to conduct basic network equipment configuration    Assist with wireless survey  Oversee ticketing log watch and assignment    Assist the team in project execution on site    Create automated KPI reports from monitoring tool applications.   Opportunity for site engagement one to three days per week    Engage with technology such as LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, DWDM and other new technologies   

 

 

Qualifications

 

Currently enrolled in Network/ Computer Science / Computer/Electrical Engineering  or a related field Awareness of Cisco networking fundamentals  Able to integrate with the team and driven to learn    Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to efficiently connect with diverse team members   Ability to learn and utilize various tools   Capacity to work efficiently independently as well as part of the team    Proven ability to learn innovative technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently    Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment    Able to articulate complex concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand    Basic knowledge of coding language (server admin, SQL, python, Power BI) is an asset   Familiarity with Cisco CCNA, CCNP is an asset  The ability to speak Spanish is an asset  About Teck
