Network Analyst - NISSC II

Our NORAD Operations Group

 

Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).

 

Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided\:

·       Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.

·       Mitigation of orbital conflicts.

·       Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.

·       Operations and maintenance of classified communications.

·       Software development and integration.

 

NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at\:

·       Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado

·       Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado

·       Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska

·       Vandenberg Space Force Base, California

·       Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world

 

Description of Duties\:

The Network Analyst supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will\:

 

·       Review and analyze system, trunk, circuit, and equipment performance.

·       Coordinate and assist in troubleshooting, isolating, repairing, and correcting network systems and circuit errors.

·       Create and update outage tickets and shift logs.

·       When necessary, brief leadership of circuit/equipment status.

·       Daily Cryptographic loads to equipment (i.e., KIV-7Ms, KIV-19Ms, KG-175s, KG-255s, etc.) and associated COMSEC paperwork.

·       Analyze problems and conduct effective fault diagnosis and system recovery.

·       Handle COMSEC materials daily.

·       Use of electronics and network principles.

 

The successful candidate will\:

·       Have knowledge with network transport equipment in a large Defense Information Systems Agency NOC and DISA processes and procedures.

·       Have knowledge of using specialized test equipment (i.e., Oscilloscope, Protocol Analyzer, Bit Error Rate Test equipment, etc.)

·       Have clear written and verbal communication skills.

 

 

This position will be filled and work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO

·       IAT Level II Certification *One of the following\: CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP

 

Desired Requirements\:

·       Have Juniper OS certification.

·       Experience with Linux/UNIX skills.

·       Experience with Juniper products including routers, switches, and Circuit to Packet (CTP) equipment.

·       Experience with Automated Ticketing Systems (i.e., Remedy).

·       Experience with digital signal flow.

·       Experience with transport circuit drawings/records.

·       Experience prioritizing and managing workloads.

·       Experience with the following technologies\: OSI, TCP/IP, and various layer 2 protocols.

·       Experience with platforms such as Radius and/or TACACS.

·       Experience with Juniper and RedHat Linux.

·       Experience with data center/long-haul transportation and serial data interfaces, cat-X, fiber, and Long-Haul Transport mechanisms.

 

 

 

This position is expected to pay $60,000 - $75,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
