Reporting to the Leidos NSOC Lead, the Top Secret cleared NSOC Services Technician is responsible for monitoring and responding to outages in enterprise services and applications.
The position may require infrequent short-term travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites. This position may require an infrequent shift in workday schedule to support exercises occurring over weekends.
Primary Responsibilities
Using Service Desk contacts, tickets, and NSOC monitoring tools including ServiceNow IT Operations Management, the NSOC Services Technician detects and verifies service outages and events and creates corresponding trouble tickets. The NSOC Services Technician then responds executes basic remediation actions to restore services. Unresolved outages are escalated to Tier 3 support. Responsible for coordinating with software vendors, hardware vendors, or NSOC operations to bring non-escalated trouble tickets to resolution.
Interact with multiple teams to include system administrators, network technicians, infrastructure technicians, and application engineers to identify and correct core problems.
Develop and document updates to NSOC Knowledge Management tools, scripts, policies, procedures, or automated responses to continually improve access to and functionality of network hosts, data, voice, and key mission systems.
Develop artifacts supporting Information Assurance and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree with 4 - 8 years of related experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree
Experience troubleshooting RHEL and a variety of software packages and associated databases.
Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
At least one current DoD 8140 certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related technical field.
Experience with virtualized environments (VMware, Red Hat)
Experience working with cloud computing and infrastructure security (AWS, Azure, etc.) to IL6
Experience as a member of agile programs.
Network Security Operations Center (NSOC), Network Operations Center (NOC), or Security Operations Center (SOC) experience
