The role
As a Network Architect, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your expertise will ensure the secure and reliable operation of critical Skynet networks, safeguarding global communication and driving technological innovation for a better-connected world.
You’ll be at the forefront of designing and implementing secure, reliable networking solutions for the Skynet network, ensuring operational excellence across complex, multi-supplier environments.
You’ll tackle complex technical challenges while contributing to technical steering communities and project working groups to define and deliver solutions that align with business objectives. You’ll also drive the development and implementation of Baseband Architectures and Strategies, maintaining compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation. You’ll also:
Evaluate new technologies and provide cost-benefit analyses to support business needs and mitigate risks. Develop, implement, and maintain processes to ensure the Skynet networks remain reliable, supportable, and operational.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week, with a hybrid work pattern, with onsite presence only required during key project demands, which can vary from weeks onsite to extended periods working remotely. Travel to sites in Corsham, Oakhanger, and Bristol will be required at certain times throughout the year.
Essential Experience for the Network Architect:
Desirable Experience (Not Essential):
Expertise in designing and implementing cloud, on-premises, and hybrid network topologies. Familiarity with the design and implementation of Cisco Catalyst Core, DNAC, and WAN solutions. Understanding of JSP604 and ‘Secure by Design’ security principles.
Required Qualifications:
CCNP Routing & Switching Certification. HNC (Level 4) or equivalent qualification in a STEM subject.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be UK sole national and able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
