Maxar is seeking a Network Architect to join a multi-faceted software development and systems administration team working to build and maintain software applications backed by a self-managed high-performance compute (HPC) infrastructure on a private cloud system.  We are responsible for the system from the hardware to the user interface.

Principal Responsibilities: 

Designs, develops, implements, and fields networking environment by designing system configuration; participating in and overseeing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards Perform operational equipment tests in accordance with existing test plans and instructions, collect and record completed test data, and identify/report findings of any failed test parameters Configuration and interconnectivity testing of firewalls, switches, and routers Conduct site surveys across all deployed locations Managing documentation by finalizing all checklists and diagrams for customer evaluation and approval Design and development of network architectures supporting special projects as well as providing SME support to the execution of existing projects and persisting problems Design and implement network solutions and network monitoring solutions for security compliance Actively engage with the customer and other stakeholders to define requirements and expected outcomes for new projects Ensure baseline configuration of all network assets is documented and configured according to engineering standards Research, evaluate, and stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies including cloud services 

Minimum Requirements: 

Ten (10) years of prior relevant experience in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related discipline  Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree from an accredited university in a technical field is required. Five (5) additional years of experience in storage operations may be considered in lieu of degree. Experience designing, architecting routed and switched networks Five years of experience configuring switches, routers, and firewalls Experience implementing complex enterprise VLAN architectures Experience with scripting languages and automation Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security Top Secret SCI with a CI Polygraph 

Desired Skills: 

Familiarity of NIST-800 Risk Management Framework Experience with network, security, infrastructure architecture activities and tasks on a medium-to-large government IT Infrastructure project with mission support requirements

Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $131,000.00 - $219,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
