The Network Observability and Automation team provides monitoring, telemetry and automation solutions for the network engineering organization at Schwab. Our automation practice develops pragmatic, reliable and repeatable process automation, and optimization through a combination of network engineering knowledge and coding. We are looking for someone with a passion for building software defined functionality within a programmable infrastructure and driving process transformation to make Schwab’s infrastructure highly automatable.
This role is instrumental in improving the organization’s automation framework and processes, along with developing code and playbooks. The engineer will partner with multiple infrastructure and operations teams, ensuring successful and efficient deployment solutions and creating corresponding documentation.
In this role the primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Architect, develop and support automation solutions for the Network Services organizationMaintain and support platforms used to deliver automation and monitoring solutionsInvestigating complex technical issues and working with partnering personnel and vendors to resolve complex issuesWork within the Agile framework to provide estimates and deliver new product functionality in a timely and efficient mannerProvide clear and accurate documentation as well as provide training to other Schwab team members as neededLeading delivery efforts around network engineering automation initiatives; contribute code and engage in code reviews, following best practice methodologiesDeveloping concepts into fully architected production-ready solutionsAssessing current network engineering implementations and recommending automation processes to improve availability, validation and successful deploymentsImproving and promoting configuration and lifecycle management processesCreating software that manages and maintains a multi-vendor, network environmentAssessing and developing Infrastructure as Code solutions that encompass hybrid infrastructure deploymentAbility to manage multiple projects of varying size and technical complexityAbility to focus on the details without losing sight of the bigger picture What you have 10+ years of engineering experience in networking, including data center, cloud and large campus infrastructuresExperience with Ansible Engine and Tower, API Frameworks and TerraformExperience with DevOps tools, including Bitbucket, Git, CI/CD pipelines and LinuxExperience using BitBucket and Bamboo or GitHub and GitHub ActionsProficiency with PythonProficient in both Linux and Windows as well as common network platforms such as routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.Experience working with Agile, Scrum and Kanban work processesEngineering degree, or a related technical field or equivalent experienceStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience in building REST microservces and web based applicationsExperience with Containers and Container repositories like HarborExperience with implementing network monitoring and telemetry solutionsExperience with vendor specific configuration solutions such as DCNM and Arista Cloud VisionCisco CCNA, CCNP or CCIE certificationsOptions Apply for this jobApplyShareRefer a friendRefer Sorry the Share function is not working properly at this moment.
