Subfamily Description

Software (SWA) comprises the definition, specification, and allocation of requirements from different sources utilising knowledge of systems engineering processes (specification & architecture). Contains processing of use case and feature requirements into conceptual models, operational scenarios, technical requirements, and functional description. Covers specification, design, implementation, and unit testing of Software (e.g. device drivers, microcode, hardware-related software & firmware) according to the requirements and architecture defined in the systems engineering process. Covers establishment and maintenance of Software Configuration Management (SCM) practices into software development projects, continuously building and integrating infrastructure tools and systems.

The NME team is seeking a Senior Network Orchestration Engineer to join our professional services team as we continue to deliver consulting, design, deployment and integration expertise in cross-domain network orchestration solutions. The selected candidate would work in a hybrid space where the fundamentals of networking technology and operation meet to deliver NetOps as an integral part of our orchestration solutions.

Responsibilities: 

Work with customers (internal/remotely/onsite) for requirement gathering and project deployments Create high-level and detailed design, implementation, operational and test documentation Develop software solutions encompassing specific functions, automation, or custom tools Adhere to and contribute to the team’s best practices and continual improvement initiatives Deliver customized solution via a workshop and/or technical training to the customer Provide support to customers integrating OSS systems with Nokia's Network Management products (SDWAN, Optical, IP) Develop and optimize customer use case scenarios, workflow automation to allow customer day-to-day operations

Team Skill Set:

Bachelors or Masters in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent Fluent English 8+ years of working experience Software Development proficiency in at least two software languages JavaScript, Python, Core Java General understanding of networking technologies and protocols (e.g., IP/MPLS/Ethernet, routing, network OAM) Knowledge of and/or hands-on experience with web services and interfaces (e.g., SOAP, REST, YANG,NETCONF, Kafka) Strong troubleshooting experience Strong customer orientation and communications skills Eagerness to learn software development, scripting languages and technologies

Advantage:

Knowledge of SDLC in an agile, waterfall, or DevOps environment Experience with Java (OOP) Object Oriented Programming Linux based Operating Systems Knowledge of and/or hands-on experience with Virtualization, cloud providers, and containers technologies (e.g., VMWare/KVM) Knowledge of database systems and hands on experience with SQL (e.g., Oracle, MySQL)

This role is customer-facing professional services role and spans consulting, design, delivery, integration and proof-of-concept trials. Primary responsibilities in this role will include:

Lead workshops to understand the end-to-end solution architecture and its position within the customer's automation context Document, present and deliver relevant design collateral Validate SDN and IP network end-to-end packet flows in Domain Specific Languages such as Tosca Design, deliver and integrate software artefacts as part of the Network Domain Orchestration solution Engage in staging, integration, network deployment and acceptance testing phases of customer projects Deploy and configure automation use cases on cloud environments using OpenShift, k8s, public cloud

The above tasks will have to done specifically in customer contexts, being directly and deeply involved in the definition and execution of customer project
