JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design and plan network systems, as well as provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. * Deliver specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. * You"ll coordinate third party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoot problems with department users and department network administrators. * Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges and gateways, etc. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor"s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master"s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. * Develop and provide innovative and creative solutions to a variety of difficult problems of considerable scope and complexity, using established precedent and policies. * Can provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. * Capable of performing technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design. * Proactively provides analysis for implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to network problems. * Display initiative on assignments, exercise independent judgment and professionally execute projects with little direction.
