Responsibilities

Architect, design, implement and operate Qualcomm's global data center networksDesign, implement and operate Qualcomm's local and global load balancing architecturesDevelop and maintain technical documentationAdhere to corporate change management policies and practicesLead evaluations and implement new technologiesMentor junior engineers, support teams, and customersTroubleshoot complex and high-risk data center networks and load balanced applicationsPerform on-call responsibilitiesPerform upgrades, enhancements and configuration changes as neededProvide support for Qualcomm's global data center networksProvide networking and load balancing support for Qualcomm's data center applications, servers and various operating systems.Work with cross-departmental and cross-functional teamsLearn and deploy next-generation networking technologiesClosely collaborate with NetOps/DevOps team on network automation and orchestration

Minimum Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Networked Systems-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
OR
9+ years of Networked Systems-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements:
• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.

Required:

8+ years of experience working in large heterogeneous networking environments5+ years of working experience designing and implementing leaf and spine data center networks2+ years of working experience with application delivery controllers including: Local and Global (GSLB) load balancersExpert level knowledge of PKI/SSL, SSL Offload, and DNS as it relates to application load balancingExperience with HAProxy/NGINX, AWS ELB/ALB, OpenStack or Kubernetes load balancing a plusExpert level knowledge and experience with protocols/technologies such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, QoS, vPC/MLAG/CLAG, VXLANExperience and expertise with TCP/IP operations and troubleshootingExperience with individual, group and vendor-assisted troubleshootingExperience working in data center IT operations and high-risk networksWorking experience with Windows, Linux, and VMware

Preferred:

Experience with HPC Grid data center environmentsExperience in GPU ethernet network architecture and designExperience in NetDevOps

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$148,000.00 - $222,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.  We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).  In addition, our highly competitive benefits package is designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play.
