Network Engineer
COLSA’s DIL support staff provides First Line Army Mission Command System (MCS) technical support to ensure successful formal and informal interoperability integration and testing between Army MCS and PEO STRI Systems and Non-System Training Aids, Devices, Simulations, and Simulators. The selected applicant will work full-time on-site at the supported government/customer secure integration and test facility. Essential Functions: + Performs duties associated with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of networks representative of an Army Tactical Operations Center (TOC) configuration supporting MCS platforms. + Configures and maintains Cisco Network Devices (Routers, Switches, ASAs, etc.). + Troubleshoots network connectivity locally and to endpoint users. + Resolves routine interoperability problems to obtain operations across all MCS platforms. Work is performed under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Work is performed in a lab environment with little or no adverse conditions. Physical demands may include lifting, up to 40 lbs., crawling, climbing, and prolonged sitting. Work requires frequent computer usage with moderate visual attention and frequent phone usage. Required SkillsRequired Experience + Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience + Minimum 2 years’ work-related experience + Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required + IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ Certification) + Experience with researching, evaluating, designing, and developing plans for network systems and associated diagrams + Familiarity with OSPF Routing Protocol + Working knowledge of desktop applications (including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs) and other applicable systems and applications such as MS Visio + Experience with Windows System Administration + Experience with Splunk configuration and operations + Experience with ACAS/Nessus and SCAP scanning + Familiarity with DOD Windows, Router, and Switch STIG Procedures + Familiarity with TACLANE devices Preferred Qualifications + Familiarity with administration or operation for any Army Mission Command Systems (MCS) such as the Tactical Server Infrastructure (TSI), Tactical Airspace Integration System (TAIS), Command Post of the Future (CPOF) and associated server data bridge desired + Prior military experience as an Army Information Technology Specialist (MOS 25B or 25 series, 74B, 31U) + Certificate trained on Army Mission Command Systems such as the Tactical Server Infrastructure (TSI) The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
