Network Engineer
Description We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer with expertise in cloud networking and security to join our team in Lathrop, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in Cisco technologies, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity frameworks who thrive in dynamic environments. The role offers the opportunity to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable network infrastructures while collaborating across teams to ensure optimal performance and compliance. Responsibilities: • Design and manage Cisco-based network infrastructures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems. • Implement scalable solutions to optimize performance in hybrid and cloud environments. • Integrate secure networking practices across cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud. • Administer and troubleshoot Cisco security devices, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. • Identify and resolve vulnerabilities in network configurations to maintain robust security. • Monitor network performance using tools like Cisco Prime Infrastructure and SolarWinds. • Troubleshoot network, cloud, and security issues to ensure high availability and reliability. • Document network designs, configurations, and incident response procedures. • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors on network projects and problem resolution. • Apply cybersecurity best practices to ensure compliance and data protection. Requirements • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, including routers, firewalls, and security systems. • Proficiency in cloud networking platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or similar environments. • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and certifications like Certified Cloud Security Specialist (CCSP). • Expertise in network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs. • Advanced skills in configuring firewalls, VPNs, and network access controls. • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex networking and security issues efficiently. • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across teams and projects. • Experience in documenting technical processes for both technical and non-technical audiences.
