Job Overview CGS is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Digital Solutions team. We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with extensive experience in Juniper equipment, SD-WAN technologies, and FortiGate firewalls to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot our complex network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of Juniper routing and switching platforms, security, network management tools, SD-WAN technologies, and FortiGate firewall configuration and management. They will also demonstrate a strong understanding of network protocols, advanced security best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies. Work Model: Hybrid Responsibilities Essential Job Duties & Functions: Network Design and Implementation: Collaborate with the IT team to design and implement robust, scalable network solutions that meet the organization's current and future needs, with a primary focus on Juniper equipment and SD-WAN technologies. Provide proposals and feedback to Digital Solutions leadership on network engineering and architecture matters. Collaborate with CGS staff to plan, implement, and support on-site operations at contract sites. Monitor and maintain network performance to ensure high availability and reliability. Security Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including FortiGate firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, etc. Participate in Vulnerability Management program to protect the organization's data and systems from unauthorized access, attacks, and breaches. Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity threats and implement appropriate countermeasures. Ensure that network communication systems maintain compliance with NIST 800-171 requirements. SD-WAN Design, implement, and manage SD-WAN solutions to optimize network performance, improve application delivery, and reduce costs. Documentation Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Technology Evaluation Stay abreast of the latest networking technologies and trends, evaluating new solutions for potential adoption within the organization, with a focus on SD-WAN, cybersecurity advancements, and FortiGate firewall features. Job Requirements Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or similar level of professional experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on Juniper equipment, SD-WAN technologies, and FortiGate firewalls DoD 8140 - (441) Advanced certification or ability to attain one within 90 days of hire (ex. CCNA, CASP, GCED). In-depth knowledge of Juniper routing and switching platforms, security, network management tools (Mist AI), SD-WAN technologies, and FortiGate firewall configuration and management. Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.), advanced security best practices, and troubleshooting methodologies. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Valid state Driver’s license with acceptable driving record. US Citizen or permanent resident.
