Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Fort Belvoir Hospital, VA

Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance
ATAMMC is primarily a Cisco shop with Palo Alto FW appliances and Cisco Call manager.
• Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to designing, installing, configuring, securing, hardening, troubleshooting, testing, upgrading of network switches, routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryptors, physical cabling, protected distribution systems (PDS), and software defined networking.
• Coordinate with program managers, information technology staff, information assurance staff, and program engineers to complete program deliverables related to network infrastructure.
• Thorough understanding of network communication standards and routing protocols
• Assists with the planning, analysis/traceability of user requirements, architectures traceability, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review cloud service capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
• Advises the Government on proposed changes to the solutions designs based on analysis of requirements and new technology.
• Provide state-of-the-art network administration solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain policies and procedures in support of standard server maintenance related to network administration systems in use.
• Proficiency in ServiceNow for ticket tracking is required.
• Lead and mentor team members, design training plans for the team and coach junior network administrators.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or other technical field + 12 years of relevant SE experience
• 10+ years of experience in network engineering and network engineering management with DOD networks with a focus on designing, integrating, and implementing networks.
• Experience with and strong understanding of network engineering lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of OSI model
• Demonstrate experience with Cisco switching and routing technology.
• Proven network engineering with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated Network Engineer experience, including design, administration, and configuration of security patches for network devices.
• Possess excellent organizational and reporting abilities; have technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of Network Engineering/Administration.
• Strong leadership, team building and analytical skills.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as foster a cohesive team environment.
• Display critical thinking and pro-active problem resolution skills.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written. As this position requires working with colleagues across the IT department, as well as clients to fully understand the client’s needs.
• Ability to interface with high-level government/military personnel and proactively translate and document high-level business needs into functional requirements.
