The Network Engineer will work closely with the Network Operations manager to design, implement and maintain network infrastructure for the enterprise organization, including on-prem and cloud data centers. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in networking concepts, and have experience configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting network devices.
Responsibilities Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure for 140+ offices, hybrid data center (on-prem and Azure data center) environmentManage and troubleshoot Palo Alto Global Protect VPN and site-to-site VPN Connectivity via Palo Alto firewalls using PanoramaConfigure branch offices and remote users through Prisma Access, Prisma CloudManage the design and execution of networking projects. Including coordinating with stakeholders, project plan and dividing tasks among team membersProvide day-to-day operational support for network devices such as switches, SDWAN, wireless, and VPN networksPerform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problemsPerform installation, maintenance and upgrade of LAN/WAN and WLAN infrastructureWork with vendors to resolve technical issues related to network hardware and softwareMonitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to network performance and connectivityDevelop and maintain documentation related to network architecture, design, and maintenanceParticipate in network security assessments, testing, and compliance auditsMaintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to the network infrastructureProvide regular metrics to NetOps team and other key stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field4-6 years’ experience managing enterprise networkStrong knowledge of leveraging firewall features like Global Protect, NAT policies, APP-ID and Security ProfilesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCisco Switch and Wireless experienceFamiliar with SDWAN architectureFamiliarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, OSPF, and BGPKnowledge of network security principles and best practicesKnowledge of Azure and or AWS network infrastructureFamiliarity with network hardware and software from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Palo AltoUnderstanding of IPsec tunnelsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyRelevant industry certifications such as CCNP or PCNSA desired Why Kimley-Horn?At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
