We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our CGI team in Salt Lake City, UT!
This is a full-time career opportunity in supporting a leading global client at the client site in the Salt Lake City area. Successful candidate will work on large scale enterprise network supporting the different assets of client's infrastructure.
• Prioritize the Health, Safety and Environment, including creation of Job Hazard Analysis or Safe Work Procedure related to IT tasks
• Interface with customers and stakeholders on a regular basis
• Proactively manage preventative maintenance tasks, and risk-analysis associated with service incidents and problems
• Trigger critical incident management based on observed alarms, issues and requests; escalate issues to other teams or vendors as required, and ensure timely resolution
• Ensure that all change management follows a high level of standard when it comes to quality control and respect of the specifications or standards. Provide training or coaching to clients where required.
• Drive cost control initiatives, and decision-making, strategy, and prioritization.
• Provide coaching to the local teams on tools and processes
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with local providers and teams from different regions around the globe
• Due to the 24/7 context operations, you will be asked to support in resolving calls outside of regular business hours and participate in an on-call roster schedule.
3 to 6 years experience in the following:
• Providing performance tuning/recommendations for mission critical networks, platforms and infrastructure
• Practicing LAN/WAN/WLAN asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related technical specifications information
• Monitoring of tools including SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Aternity, Riverbed optimization environment for potential issues
• Preparing, coordinating, and implementing networks based on new designs, standards, architectures
• Developing and reporting through dashboards on trends, network health, and capacity management
• Collaborating on IT or business projects that may require a member of the Network Operations team
• Reviewing of vendor KPIs and working with them on any improvements
• Preparing, coordinating, and supervising systems implementation with 3rd party vendors
• Troubleshooting network incidents to resolution, perform incident reviews, and identify root causes
• Working with client’s global networks, network engineering, and Cyber teams for corporate alignment and global initiatives
• Suggesting, prioritizing and identifying improvements around support of operational environments
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
• Bachelor's degree in IT or related degree or 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
• Advanced knowledge of CISCO Network equipment, servers, hosting and storage technologies and support
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
• Networking technologies and support Change and Release practices for infrastructure delivery and support
• Successful track record in monitoring customer service levels and analyzing information, spotting trends, identifying gaps
• Experience with designing, implementing, and managing complex WAN/LAN/Wireless networks
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required
• Strong customer service orientation
• Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Work with minimal supervision
It will also be beneficial if you have:
• Knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN & Zscaler solutions
• Knowledge of Cisco NGFW and FMC
• Knowledge of IPAM tools, DNS/DHCP services
• Knowledge of all things O365 including MS Teams and SharePoint
• Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, and Puppet
• Knowledge of one or more of the following scripting languages: Python, Ruby, Perl, Node.js, or Golang
• Knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM tool, ITIL
