Network Engineer
Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with at least 3 years of relevant experience to support and maintain the network infrastructure of a dynamic and globally distributed environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in network operations, with a solid understanding of routing and switching, network security, and troubleshooting across various technologies. You will work as part of a global, cross-functional team to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of network systems, and actively contribute to ongoing projects, maintenance, and incident resolution.

Key Responsibilities: Network Operations & Engineering: Network Maintenance: Oversee and manage network operations, ensuring the continuous performance of branch, data center, and cloud-based network services. Routing & Switching: Implement and troubleshoot Branch & Data Centre Switching & Routing using common protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP). Wireless Networks: Configure and maintain wireless networks, troubleshooting performance issues and ensuring network security. Firewall & Security Management: Administer and support enterprise firewalls (e.g., CheckPoint, Palo Alto), ensuring the security and integrity of the network. VPN Technologies: Configure and maintain Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPN technologies for secure connectivity across remote locations. Network Services: Manage IP address management, DNS, DHCP, NTP, and other core network services to ensure smooth operations. Monitoring & Diagnostics: Utilize network management, monitoring, and diagnostic tools to track performance and resolve issues quickly. Load Balancers & Proxy: Maintain and troubleshoot Load Balancers and Proxy Technologies (e.g., Bluecoat, McAfee) for optimal service delivery. Packet Capture & Analysis: Perform packet captures and analyze network traffic to diagnose performance issues and vulnerabilities. Collaboration & Support: Cross-functional Collaboration: Work as part of a global, multi-locational team, collaborating with Service Desk, Platforms, Information Security, and End User Services to resolve incidents and improve network performance. Incident & Problem Management: Proactively manage incidents and problems, ensuring adherence to SLA's (Service Level Agreements) and OLA's (Operational Level Agreements). Technical Resource: Act as a technical resource for network-related change requests and project works, providing guidance on design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Documentation & Procedures: Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and keep network-related documentation up to date for troubleshooting and operational efficiency. Maintenance & Upgrades: Lead efforts in firmware upgrades, maintenance schedules, and recurring patch cycles to ensure optimal network performance and security. Tools & Systems: ServiceNow: Utilize ServiceNow to update incidents, requests, and changes in real time, ensuring effective tracking and management of network operations. Technology Roadmap: Maintain an awareness of the technology roadmap, keeping up to date with emerging network technologies and trends to improve service delivery. Additional Duties: On-Call Support: Provide on-call support and shift coverage for network-related issues outside of standard working hours. Weekend & Shift Work: Participate in weekend or off-hours support, including scheduled maintenance and urgent troubleshooting. Required Skills & Experience: 3+ years of experience in a Network Operations Engineer or similar role. CCNA certification (minimum), with a preference for candidates actively working toward or holding a CCNP. Solid hands-on experience with Branch & Data Centre Routing & Switching, network troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Expertise in enterprise firewalls, especially CheckPoint and Palo Alto. Experience with VPN technologies, including Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPN. Knowledge of Proxy technologies (e.g., Bluecoat, McAfee) and Load Balancer configurations. Strong understanding of network services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, and IP Address Management. Experience with wireless technologies, including setup, troubleshooting, and security. Hands-on experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools, including packet capture and analysis. Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus. Proficient in English, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Desired Qualifications: Experience working within the ITIL framework for service management. Knowledge of ServiceNow for incident and request management. Experience with voice, video, and audio-visual solutions. Previous exposure to network automation tools is an advantage. Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work effectively in a global, multi-team environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple incidents and projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
