Network Engineer II

The Enterprise Network Team maintains and operates a corporate network linking SEI and partner locations around the world as well as a production network connecting SEI hosting locations (including multi-cloud) to customers around the world leveraging skills in network design, systems engineering, device configuration, troubleshooting and project management.

What you will do:

Work with a hybrid on-/off-shore team of network professionals supplemented by multiple vendors technical support staffs to operate a global network including connectivity to multiple public and private cloud providers, dozens of corporate and partner offices, as well as hundreds of client locationsProvide Level 2 support to allow for maximum network availability on a 24/7 basisIdentify the need, evaluate, recommend, deploy and use network monitoring and management tools across a global network with over two hundred locationsWork with network architects to develop, design and implement network infrastructure changes and lifecycle updatesWork in a multi-vendor network environment to ensure secure and reliable operations for all stakeholders.Create and update network documentationPerform and publish root cause analysis when incidents or outages occur to improve system availabilityRespond to requests clarifying network and security topology and support development and operations teams in delivering robust secure solutionsCoordinate projects and troubleshoot issues with development teams and customer network teamsStay current with networking and security best practices, standards and emerging technologies to better serve internal and external customers

What we need from you:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related fieldExpertise in network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practicesExperience with network devices from major vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks)Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team  

Desired Skills:

Proven experience in network automation using scripting languages (Python, Bash) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)Network certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP)Experience with cloud networking and automationKnowledge of network monitoring and analytics toolsFamiliarity with DevOps principles and practices
