As a Network Engineer II, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers and IT teams to strengthen our network defenses while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge security technologies.

What You Will Do:

Network Segmentation & Security:

Assist senior engineers in developing and implementing network and application segmentation strategies aligned with security best practices and compliance requirements. Support the design and configuration of VLANs, subnets, and access control lists (ACLs) to enforce segmentation policies. Help implement micro-segmentation solutions to protect critical assets, applications, and sensitive data. Work with the firewall team to optimize rules and policies, ensuring effective security enforcement.

Infrastructure & Risk Management:

Utilize knowledge of TCP/IP, IOS, multiple routing protocols, wireless protocols (LWAPP), VPN, perimeter security, and Layer 3 content switching to support segmentation initiatives. Monitor network traffic for potential security breaches and suspicious activity. Assist in conducting security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate segmentation gaps.

Access Control & Collaboration:

Help manage and enforce access controls within network and application segments, ensuring adherence to the principle of least privilege. Work closely with Network Infrastructure, Server Services, Firewall Team, and IT Security to support segmentation requirements and security objectives. Maintain comprehensive documentation of network segmentation designs, configurations, and procedures.

What You Bring to the Team:

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma. Experience: Minimum 3 years of network engineering experience. Certifications: CCNA required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field. Experience: 5-7 years of IT experience, preferably in a healthcare or enterprise environment. Certifications: CCNP preferred.
