Network Engineer III

Summary

We are recruiting for a Network Engineer III. This position is responsible for the design, deployment, configuration, and administration of networking components to include firewalls, routers, SD-WAN, wireless components, switches, VPN, and Network Access Control. The focus of this position will be on the company’s local area network technology, including SD-WAN, wired and wireless access.  This role oversees overall roadmap of this critical network infrastructure and provide support for a Tier 3 level.  

 

The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $145,000  per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide Tier 3 support for local area network services across the enterprise for wired and wireless network services.    Build and maintain a roadmap for the evolution of local area network services, to provide LAN services to our administration and Operation technology networks  Plan network maintenance activities for the LAN infrastructure to support our ability to stay current with software patches and features to support the business, including emergency patching for critical vulnerabilities.  Monitor end of life/end of support cycles for the various platforms and propose projects to refresh the hardware to allow the company to remain supported.  Work closely with the company’s information security department on ensuring the LAN is protected from malicious activity. Work with our Manufacturing Systems teams to property segment operational technology (production) traffic to provide protective security measures within the Perdue network. Provide technical design, implementation, documentation and operational leadership for all aspects of networking, and mentoring for junior team members. Minimum Education and Experience Required

REQUIRED:   

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent work experience CCNA certified 8+ years in managing and deploying network devices (Routers, Switches, Load balancers, Access Points, Wireless Controllers) Experience with modern routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) 3+ years managing an enterprise network which includes manufacturing elements Advanced network problem solving and troubleshooting skills including running wire captures to determine where a problem may exist Experience with network segmentation for the purpose of reducing risk to critical processes on a network

 

PREFERRED:  

Incident and Problem Management Experience SD-WAN experience Cloud managed network experience such as Aruba Central Network Access Control experience in an enterprise network setting, utilizing 802.1x technology to determine what level of network access to provide to a device Cloud Network experience in one or more of the 3 major cloud platforms Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another May need to access files, supplies and equipment Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment Some work may need to be completed on-site at one of our locations, which could be a in a wet\damp climate
