About the Role:
CrowdStrike is looking for a Network Engineer III who has a solid track record of
building and operating hyper-scale hybrid cloud networks. In this role, you will be
responsible for the production backbone network. You will develop and support both
the IP and Optical technologies that connect our data centers as well as edge
connectivity. In addition, you will own major improvement initiatives from ideation to
implementation, including funding, planning and operational support.


What You'll Do:

Build and maintain a high-performance and fault-tolerant production network

at-scale

Analyze requirements and develop solutions of technical problems based on

complex business needs

Hold regular, frequent project meetings to address challenges and drive

milestones

Improve the reliability and efficiency of network operations and practices

Contribute capacity planning, forecasting, and create plans for growth

Evaluate technologies for scale, security, and maintainability

Support the development, testing and integration of new hardware and

software platforms

Diagnose and solve complex network and application problems, and

recommend improvements

Contribute into network automation to enable speed and scale

Participate in a 24X7 on-call rotation


What You'll Need:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems,

or work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.

Equivalent field experience considered.

5+ years of experience in building and maintaining large scale, complex

backbone and data center network infrastructure

Expert level knowledge in large scale IP networking technologies and

protocols such as: MP-BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VxLAN, EVPN, QoS,

DNS, MACsec

Ability to understand Python/Shell scripts and programs for automation, tools,

frameworks, dashboards, alarms.

Experience with using software development to operate or deploy a large

network, such as Python, Ansible, YAML, or Netconf/YANG.

Proficient with various networking vendors such as Juniper, Nokia, Adva,

Arista, Palo Alto, Cisco, HP, etc.

Experience with building and maintaining network monitoring and graphing

tools, as well as streaming telemetry

Experience with Cloud Providers such as AWS and GCP

Bonus Points:

Experience in the automation of systems to reduce operational toil

A strong track record of developing and improving tools, platforms, and infrastructure.

Experience with network simulation and testing tools (WAE, Northstar,

Spirent, NS-3, NetSim, Batfish, Ixia)

Production level experience supporting large scale network infrastructure

Ability to communicate technical detail into succinct and fact-based business terminology, both verbally and in writing

Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work independently and meet

deadlines.

Customer-focused mindset, with demonstrated skill in managing expectations, providing proactive status updates, and producing high-quality work products

Work experience in data center, telecom, SaaS, or cloud operations companies

Ability to use independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action to solve problems
