Network Engineer Intern
**Job Description:** Tri-State is an electric a power utility providing electricity to rural electric cooperatives. We have a Network Engineer Summer Intern opportunity for 2025. Students who have successfully completed two (2) to three (3) years of undergraduate study towards a Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, computer science or information technology from an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply. Seniors who will be graduating in December or are planning to attend graduate school in the Fall are also encouraged to apply. **This summer internship offers students hands on opportunity to work in and learn various aspects of Tri-State’s Voice & Data Network Engineering department.** **Responsibilities:** Under supervision, the intern will be responsible for assisting staff in the development and implementation of network solutions; optimizing network documentation, monitoring network performance, enhancing cyber security and will support the integration of new technologies. **Projects may include the following:** + Support and assist staff with WAN/LAN upgrades at Substation and Generation facilities in Colorado. Assist with WIFI and VOIP network upgrades and additions at Headquarters and other field facilities. **Job Requirements** **Knowledge, Skills and Ability** + General knowledge of Information Technology functions and operations. + Highly motivated self-starter who likes to be challenged and a willingness to learn. + Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and completeness. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. **Duration and Work Schedule** + The work schedule includes Monday through Friday, eight hours per day, 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. or potential flexibility of days or hours upon approval, forty hours per week.
