Program Overview:
In support of the US Space Force, the WICSII contract encompasses mission operating systems at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB). This effort includes the ability to provide support to various SSFB Installation information and communications systems and associated tenant organizations. ASRC Federal System Solutions will provide personal services in support of operations, maintenance, logistics management, testing, and all other requirements within the WICSII Performance Work Statement (PWS). Support includes potential future requirements, emerging technologies, system growth, and new/upgraded equipment as needed.
This is a temporary 6 month assignment.
Duties
Provides specific, detailed information for technology selection, implementation, and deployment, as well as tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in all network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing areas, such as routers, switches, firewalls, proxies, load balancing, etc. Prepares appropriate network documentation, including operational instructions. Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance network capabilities. Cloud integration may require knowledge of network topography. Implement applications of machine-to-machine (M2M) communication to improve the efficiency and security of the organization's operations.
Key Role
Under broad direction, provides technical leadership in planning, investigating, designing, and implementing physical and logical communications solutions with network-wide impact. Provides solutions that incorporate integration of digital encoding formats, line codes, and timing concepts across engineering disciplines and environments. Influences team members, the customer, and vendors to define, analyze, and provide solutions for the customer’s voice, data, and image communications requirements. Prepares complex workprints and schematics to define and illustrate entire network structures and solutions. Identifies and recommends new design tools for use in communications projects. Evaluate projected corporate network usage and provide and implement media solutions. Participates in and influences marketing proposals and studies by providing costing models, reports, and technical solutions for network-wide projects. Identifies product modifications and influences vendors to incorporate these changes into their products. Plans, designs, and implements network management systems to monitor, diagnose, control, and measure the performance of multiple communication networks. Identifies, analyzes, and recommends new network administrative systems for entire networks to ensure accurate network inventory and timely implementation.
Duties
Perform operations and system administration services for communications system technical support, architecture design, and troubleshooting. Perform Network Monitoring, Performance, and Trend Analysis Services. Monitor LAN and WAN system performance, perform trend analysis, and report results using government-provided software. Perform Software Configuration Management to include reports on licensing all Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software installed on Schriever SFB administrative networks and stand-alone computers. Manage connections to external communications, such as computer networks, as the government determines. Monitoring and resolving communication traffic problems, coordinating with external control agencies for upgrades and changes, and implementing or coordinating necessary configuration changes to ensure compatibility. Ensure all networks are free of unauthorized access, viruses, and information beyond the classification level of the network and mitigate these threats to network integrity. Responsible for the security of the SSFB networks, the network security policy complies with higher-level policies, and all users adhere to directives, regulations, and network security policy. Conducted security-scanning operations and supported stand-alone system security as required. The contractor shall implement, monitor, and enforce approved Designated Approval Authority (DAA) policies, identify and report security incidents, and ensure identified systems vulnerabilities are appropriately remedied or mitigated. The contractor shall ensure the Schriever SFB administrative LANs have at least one TS/SCI system administrator available. The contractor shall be responsible for Vulnerability Management of the SSFB networks.
Address vulnerabilities discovered via Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), which analyzes a computer system in search of known vulnerabilities. i.e., open ports, insecure software, and susceptibility to malware infections. Correct vulnerabilities, installation of a patch, a change in network policy, or reconfiguration of software. Disseminate Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNO). Provide Notice to Airman (NOTAM) and Maintenance Tasking Order (MTO) as required. Perform sustainment and coordinate technical refresh installations and equipment replacements of SIPRNet, and NIPRNet. Perform site surveys, equipment configuration, accreditation, equipment installation, equipment testing, and cutovers & integration of the equipment into the NIPR/SIPR networks. Make recommendations to the government for priority of equipment replacement.
