Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs of current/modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologiesRecommend best practices such as SDN, Intent-based networking, and network segmentation protocols, etc., in order to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirementsDesign telecommunications circuit specificationsIdentify the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise servicesDeliver service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver Infrastructure-as-CodeDevelop and maintain network architecture specifications and artifactsDesigns and plans network communications systems.Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.Conducts testing of network design.Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Work Environment:

Location: Annapolis Junction MD [On-site]Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20% TravelWorking Hours: Standard 40 hour per week

Qualifications :

Required:

Clearance: Top Secret with SCI8 to 10 years’ experience with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.Minimum 3 years of Cisco experience; proven expertise with Cisco network hardware including: routers, switches, firewalls, unified communications equipmentProven experience in VMware environmentsProven experience in virtual and physical Internet Protocol and Fiber Channel networks and routing protocolsProven experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and low bandwidth networks protected by network encryptorsInformation Assurance Certifications consistent with the 8570 IAT Level III

Desired:

Professional certification in Cisco, VMware, and/or ITIL

Basic Compensation:

$130,000 to $140,000

This range is for the Maryland area only

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
