Network Engineer - Video Security Systems Integration

The Video Network Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in our organization, providing essential support for both video installation projects, sales opportunities, and network engineering tasks. This multifaceted role involves coordinating logistics, specifying product, and ensuring that installation teams have the documentation and resources they need, while also contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of customer system network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. This role also assists the local sales team to help design security solutions, including Access Control, Video Surveillance, and Visitor Management. Responsibilities Coordinate with project managers and/or technicians regarding video and access installations projects and assign tasks to installation technicians based on their skills and availability. Acts as primary liaison and administrator for CheckVideo/KastleVideo commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Assist installation technicians with video configuration, and testing, providing guidance and troubleshooting support as necessary. Serve as a point of contact for installation technicians, addressing their questions, concerns, and technical issues throughout the duration of installation projects. Collaborate with customer network engineers to design, implement, and maintain video network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, as well as network services such as DNS, DHCP, and VLANs. Monitor video network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure the smooth operation of our network resources. Maintain accurate documentation of installation procedures, network configurations, and project-related information to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference. Become an expert on our product line Interfaces with Kastle sales and customers to develop solutions and win business. Works cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure IT, Operations, and Client Services to ensure the clients expectations are met. Uses hands-on field experience to ensure that the systems as designed can be effectively installed, and maintained. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; additional technical certifications or training in networking and audiovisual systems preferred Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with a solid understanding of video equipment, cabling, and installation techniques. Experience in network engineering, with a strong understanding of networking protocols, technologies, and best practices. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members. Detail-oriented and resourceful, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Experience in design of access control, video/CCTV, and front office visitor management systems. Skills and experience with installing, managing, programming, and troubleshooting: web-based access control systems, video management systems, IP cameras, NVRs, visitor management systems, and physical security system components (i.e. electrified locks, badge readers, intrusion sensors, etc.) Experience reading and responding to Security Bid Specifications and Construction drawings. Excellent problem solving and communication skills. Practical understanding and comfort working in IP Network environments. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
