Job Description

Motorola Solutions runs a state of the art enterprise network that delivers global VoIP and VaaS capabilities as well as HD video collaboration in over 125+ locations worldwide. 

 The role of the Network Engineer is to provide operational support that ensures the integrity, performance and uptime of our global LAN, WAN and Wireless Networks. This position will be hybrid and have primary responsibility for Wireless, however will also support the  provisioning, decommissioning and overall lifecycle across network disciplines. You will make a positive impact from day one as part of a collaborative and committed team of technical peers, and will enjoy opportunities to grow toward your strengths and what interests you most. Ideal candidates for the Network Engineer position will possess 3 + years of network experience.

Basic Qualifications

Experience with SDWAN networks and multilayer switching

Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols TCP/IP and WLAN standards 802.11.

Knowledge of wireless networking including (RF) link performance and reliability.  

Support of WLAN RF plan and site survey tools (e.g. Ekahau).

Ability to work with all levels of staff globally within and outside of the IT organization.

A self-starter able to work independently, but comfortable working in a team environment.

Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to resolve complex problems.

Required Skills and Experience 

3+ years of network experience

Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field

Experience with configuration, installation and monitoring of network equipment

Hands on experience with enterprise networks and knowledge/experience with WLAN deployments and support-

Extreme Network - advantage 

Cisco , Aruba

Experience Desired:

Hands on staging and installation of network devices

Understanding of virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V

Cisco CCNA CCNP certifications

WIFI Skill level - CWNP (Certified Wireless Network Professional)

Ability to think strategically and suggest creative solutions

Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and tight timelines

Note: Candidate will have to go into the Schaumburg office 1-2 times a week.
