Purpose of the position
Hiab is seeking a Network Operations Expert to join our global team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the seamless operation of Hiab’s global network and voice services while contributing to development projects in this area.
The position is flexible and can be based anywhere in Europe.
Oversee global site connectivity to ensure uninterrupted communication and data flow across all Hiab locations. Manage and maintain global voice services, ensuring high-quality performance and reliability. Monitor network performance, identify issues, and resolve them proactively to minimize downtime. Perform day-to-day network operations, including configuration changes, updates, and monitoring. Diagnose and resolve connectivity or voice service issues promptly, escalating to relevant teams or vendors when necessary. Analyze and report on network incidents, identifying root causes and recommending improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support network infrastructure for new and existing projects. Provide technical expertise for network upgrades, migrations, and expansions. Coordinate with external service providers to ensure SLAs are met and services are optimized. Identify opportunities for network optimization and enhanced security.
This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing Hiab's global network and voice infrastructure, ensuring seamless and reliable connectivity for employees and operations worldwide. As a Network Operations Specialist, you will be instrumental in keeping Hiab connected, fostering collaboration, and driving innovation across the organization.
What you’ll need to succeed Proven experience in IT and IM operations, with a strong background in network solutions. 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network infrastructure and operations. Bachelor’s degree in Networks, IT, or a related field (preferred). Fluency in English (both verbal and written); additional languages are a plus. Expertise in connectivity technologies, including but not limited to: Firewalls, proxies, and network protocols Switches, routers, Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN DNS, DHCP, NAT, SIP, VoIP, and VPN Familiarity with cloud services and cloud-based network infrastructure. Strong knowledge of network infrastructure management and security best practices. Understanding of connected devices, including desktops, laptops, servers, tablets, mobile phones, and telephony (both fixed and VoIP). Willingness to travel up to 5–10% of the time as needed.
