Please take this opportunity to join one of GDIT’s fastest long-standing growing programs!  US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world challenges on a cross-functional, fast paced team. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs, plans, and builds communications networks. Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.Service Center Central (SCC), Pacific Command (SCW), and National Capital Region Team Lead, responsible for prioritizing tasks, both local and Enterprise, and tracking them to completion. Balance the workload amongst the team. Provide feedback to teammates and leadership.Provide technical assistance during installation, operation, and maintenance of network and user equipment.Assist with upgrades, integration, and installation, as needed. Install and upgrade network software and hardware, as directed. Maintain network-monitoring software. Monitor and maintain the network to ensure reliability, data integrity, and peak performance.Maintain tight configuration control over the network architecture and equipment.Make recommendations for COTS hardware/software upgrades and implementation of new network systems, as needed.Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing, repairs and/or installations of company products.Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.Serve as customer contact on technical and service-related problems.

Required Qualifications:

9+ years of experience required.Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.BA/BS degree or equivalent work experienceCCNP required.DoD 8570 IAT Level II required.Experience using Network management tools and concepts.Ideal candidate will have experience with distributed network environment.Experience with Cisco routers and switches, supporting DOD networks.Experience with creating network diagrams using Microsoft Visio.Experience with twisted pair cable, Patch Panels, and other layer 1 maintenance and installation.Experience with SM and MM fiberCisco VoIP experience desired.Candidate must be willing to perform systems maintenance duties after-hours and on weekends.Candidate must be willing to be on-call for troubleshooting and support.

Unique/Additional Requirements Knowledge Requirements:

Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst and Cisco Nexus series switchesKnowledge of Cisco ISR Gen2 (1900, 2900, 3900 series) and ISR Gen3 (4000 series) routersKnowledge of Cisco Firepower series firewalls.Knowledge (to include instillation) of KG-175, KG-250 and other NSA Cryptographic devices.Knowledge of configuration of Cisco IOS 15.x, Cisco IOS-XE 16.x, and NX-OS 9.xKnowledge of VLAN's, Spanning Tree, and routing concepts to include: EIGRP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, and Multicast.Knowledge of network management applications including Solarwinds

Additional Requirements:

Riverbed WAN optimization equipment experience desired.Must have excellent oral, written and teamwork skills.Must be capable of troubleshooting complex network issues.Candidate could be deployed to support network installations/maintenance. Deployment locations could include hazardous duty zones
