Network Planning Analyst

If you share our passion for creating an airline people love, we want to hear from you. **Role Summary** The Network Planning Analyst is responsible for analysis of Alaska Air Group’s route network and schedule. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to optimize capacity deployment in line with Air Group’s long-term network strategy. **Key Duties** **In the entry level (P1):** + Forecasts, reports, and provides input for a set of markets within the Alaska Air Group route network. + Under the direction of leadership and team leads, conducts economic evaluation of the Alaska Air Group network to support capacity decisions. + Partners with scheduling teams to ensure that seasonal schedules drive optimal commercial outcomes for the route network. + Monitors airline industry events and trends, tracking changes in competitors’ route networks. + Supports the communication of recommendations and analysis to company leaders by tying together data and visuals in PowerPoint. + Leverages an infrastructure of models and tools to support development of the capacity planning process. + Maintains network-related reports to be disseminated to internal groups, including executives. + Provides input into collaborative projects with Revenue Management, Corporate Real Estate, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Crew Planning, and other internal groups. + Under the guidance of leadership, engages with external partners, including air service development teams. + Contributes to ad-hoc analysis and reporting in support of commercial planning decisions, company presentations, and internal and external communications. + Performs other duties as assigned. **In the intermediate level (P2):** + Forecasts, reports, and makes recommendations for a set of markets within the Alaska Air Group route network. + Conducts directed economic evaluation of the Alaska Air Group network to support capacity decisions. + Partners with scheduling teams to ensure that seasonal schedules drive optimal commercial outcomes for the route network. + Monitors airline industry events and trends to determine implications for the Alaska Air Group network, making recommendations based on analysis of competitors’ route networks. + Communicates recommendations and analysis to company leaders with cohesive storytelling. + Creates an infrastructure of models and tools to support development of the capacity planning process. + Designs & maintains network-related reports to be disseminated to internal groups, including executives. + Works closely with Revenue Management, Corporate Real Estate, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Crew Planning, and other internal groups on collaborative projects. + Supports relationships with external partners, including air service development teams. + Provides ad-hoc analysis and reporting in support of commercial planning decisions, company presentations, and internal and external communications. + Performs other duties as assigned. **Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills** **Required All:** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Minimum age of 18. + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. **Entry Level - Professional 1** **Required** + Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. + Analytical and critical thinking skills. + Knowledge of modeling/forecasting methodologies. + A strong work ethic with the ability to meet specific deadlines, sometimes under significant time pressure. + Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. + Detail-driven with ability to understand overriding goals. + A self-starter who is able to work independently and with others as part of a team. **Level – Professional 2** **Required** + 2 years of experience in analytics or related area. + Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. + Analytical and critical thinking skills. + Knowledge of modeling/forecasting methodologies. + Ability to prioritize responsibilities as needs change. + Detail-driven with ability to understand overriding goals. + A strong work ethic with the ability to meet specific deadlines, sometimes under significant time pressure. + Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. + A self-starter who is able to work independently and with others as part of a team. + Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to communicate to all levels of the company, including senior executives. **Job-Specific Leadership Expectations** + Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. **Salary Range** $78,000 --$135,500 / year **Pay Details** Entry level: $78,000 - 87,150 Intermediate level: $90,300 - 135,500 **Salary Details** Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
