Network Quantitative Engineer
**Summary:** Meta's global network comprised of cutting-edge platforms, is looking for a Network Quantitative Engineer to join the network infrastructure team. This team is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting one of the world’s largest and complex networks. As a Network Quantitative Engineer, you will have a unique opportunity to influence network planning decisions, shaping the future network to accommodate hyper-exponential growth as well as internal product requirements. Specifically, the team works in the intersection of: **Required Skills:** Network Quantitative Engineer Responsibilities: 1. Work with large, complex data sets around the Meta data infrastructure and solve difficult analysis problems. 2. Develop, and deploy automated data and analysis pipelines to support prototyping and proof-of-concept efforts across the team. 3. Produce data visualizations and reporting for network demand, capacity and performance which will enable decision making to internal partners. 4. Support end users on ad hoc data usage and in-depth experience for solution development across the team. 5. Leverage the Meta software and data infrastructure to develop efficient analytics. 6. Build cross-functional relationships with Network Planners, Software Engineers and Network Engineers to understand their business needs. **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 7. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta. 8. 1+ years of experience in a highly quantitative field, combined with coding experience. 9. Experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across various stakeholders. 10. Understanding of statistical analysis, experience with packages, such as R, SciPy, NumPy etc. 11. Hands-on experience with large datasets and data manipulation platforms. 12. Familiarity with networking fundamentals, through course work or internships. 13. Systems experience building data foundation and analytical frameworks **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 14. Graduate work experience (masters or PhD in a highly quantitative field) 15. Experience using concepts of operations research, stochastic optimization, machine learning, queuing theory, probability theory to construct models for solving network problems 16. Demonstrated experience of recognizing issues in network operations products and finding alternative paths forward, specifically as it pertains to network operations. 17. Prior experience working with time-series data and capacity planning. 18. Quantitative analysis: statistical analysis, data exploration, experimentation, A/B testing 19.
