**Overview** **Network Security Engineer** Hybrid/On-site **1-2 days on-site in Mechanicsburg, PA** **_***Employer will not sponsor work visas for this position now or in the future and is not interested in corp.-to-corp. business arrangements at this time.***_** We are seeking a motivated and experienced Network Security Engineer to join our Information Security Technology Operations team. The Network Security Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, developing, evaluating, testing, and integrating the organization’s security infrastructure, including the implementation and design of multiple security solutions. This individual will collaborate on multiple security-related projects and technologies, working with team members within the IT organization as well as other internal business units and external customers/partners. This individual will play a meaningful role in the Information Security Technology and Operations program, aimed at improving the company’s alignment with corporate security policies/standards, strategic goals, and regulatory requirements. **Responsibilities** **What You’ll Be Doing:** + Working across teams with other engineers and architects from DevOps, Networking and various application teams to securely deploy and manage our physical and virtual firewalls in our private and public clouds. + Be responsible for peering, routing and segmenting our core computing infrastructure to optimize network performance and promote minimum necessary design. + Stay current on industry trends including new attack vectors, zero-day vulnerability releases and recommend and deploy patches to address vulnerabilities + Guide and mentor other members of the security team + Lead network security design for public clouds utilizing automation and infrastructure as code to support our expansion while maintaining our segmentation strategy and layered security approach. + Develop deployment standards and guidelines for other teams to follow + Ensuring that monitoring and reporting is configured for security infrastructure to alert to anomalies and system outage events and that appropriate system capacities are maintained + Maintaining accurate documentation and diagrams of our systems and designs + Evaluate new security technologies to better improve efficiencies, security posture and meet business objectives + Provide hands on Tier III triage during major incident events **What will set you apart:** + Hands on experience deploying firewalls and infrastructure using Gitlab and Terraform. + Advanced skills with supporting firewall and application delivery technology from vendors such as Palo Alto, VMWare, Citrix, AWS and Azure. + Experience with full stack support for secure application delivery + Healthcare related experience working with HIPAA, SOX and NIST frameworks + Proven track record of designing zero trust architecture, perimeter security and minimizing internet attack surface. **Qualifications** **Required Qualification:** + Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Security, Management Information Systems or equivalent education and experience + In Lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa + **6+ years’ experience** of growing responsibility in network security or systems security engineering supporting hybrid cloud technologies. + 2+ years functioning as a Network Security Engineer. **Preferred Qualification:** + Deep understanding with networking technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, VPNs, NAT, routing, switching, VLANs, subnets, etc.) + Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the latest trends related to Cyber Security and Technology. + Possess a firm grasp of the offerings within VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the Microsoft Azure platforms. + Proven ability and experience securing large sophisticated private cloud enterprise architectures or systems deployed in public cloud. + Shown ability to handle multiple projects/workstreams and demands efficiently + Strong dedication to quality customer service + Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and use standard methodologies + Excellent troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills + Relevant industry certifications are a plus **Additional Data** Select Medical and its parent company, Select Medical Holdings Corporation (NYSE: SEM), are based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and honored to be recognized as one of America’s Best-In-State (Pennsylvania) Employers 2020 by Forbes.
