Network Specialist

This position is a member of an in-house, repair and maintenance team responsible for a wide variety of campus networking, electronics, computers and peripherals. The incumbent works independently with minimum supervision as well as working productively as part of the Technical Services team and with other technology specialists within the Information Technology unit.

Provides technical support for moderately complex voice infrastructure and/or equipment. Performs advanced telecommunications and maintenance tasks, provides advanced end user support, and serves as point of escalation for complex requests. Configures, installs, and utilizes voice network monitoring and configuration tools. Assists in evaluation and design of voice systems and serves as an occasional team lead for lower-level team members.

Install, repair and maintain network electronics and the campus fiber/copper infrastructure.Provide technology triage to the university community to resolve problems with university technology.Maintain, calibrate and repair electronic equipment throughout the campus in support of academic and administrative applications.Maintain and repair desktop computers, servers, printers and peripherals.
