Network Support Technician - Intermediate – TS/SCI required

HOW AN NETWORK SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - INTERMEDIATE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Under general supervision, monitors and responds to technical control facility hardware and software problems utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques. May interface with contractor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or period of degraded system performance. May assist with installation of terminals and associated hardware. May provide network server support. Requires strong knowledge of PC/Network communications hardware/software, in a multi- protocol environment, and network management software.Provide Tier I and II support at remote field and garrison sitesPerform server and desktop installation, basic cablingPerform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networksProvide desktop system management involving account monitoring, security, operating system (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functionsBe capable of running an entire remote site by themselves with demanding customers in austere or garrison locationsMaintain and load cryptographic device and keysPerform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on many types of hardware and softwareProvide advice and training to end usersTroubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performanceSet up administrator and service accounts and maintain system documentation

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experienceRequired Skillset:Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and supportKnowledge of related hardware and softwareClearance Level: TS/SCIRequired Certification(s):DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contractIAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalentRequired Computing Environment Certification: MCSA Windows Server 2012, Solaris 10, Linux+, VCP5, Azure Administrator Fundamentals etc​ Location: On Customer SiteAdditional:Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contractPosition may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activityTravel may be required to support the mission

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.47 - $39.87. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
