The Network Services Territory Director is a seasoned leader with substantial expertise in field services and network operations, responsible for providing direction as part of the Networks Services team. This role oversees delivering excellent end-to-end operational and cost performance across the territory for all Networks services customer contracts. The person in this position will ensure high-quality work and strict adherence to safety standards while continuously managing internal outcomes and those of third-party vendors to achieve exceptional customer satisfaction, as reflected in Networks Customer scorecards. They will also maintain essential strategic relationships with customers and vendors and support vendor governance within the territory.
The Territory Director of Operations will supervise and manage all operational activities within the designated territory to ensure efficient and profitable service execution. This role requires strategic leadership to ensure all operations align with company objectives, customer expectations, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the telecom industry, with proven experience in operations management, strategic planning, and effective team leadership.
What you will do:
Operational Leadership: Direct and manage all operational activities within the region, including network operations, service delivery, and offshore teams, ensuring that they are executed effectively and within the cost structure outlined in the business case.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement territory operational strategies that align with overall company objectives, driving growth and operational excellence.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Customer Focus: Ensure that customer satisfaction is at the forefront of all operational decisions. Implement processes to monitor and improve customer satisfaction across the territory, as defined by customer scorecards.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the territory, analyzing data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth.
Budget Management: Monitor territory budget and optimal internal headcount numbers based on business scope and volume, ensuring cost control while meeting operational goals and maintaining high standards of service quality.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies. Identify and mitigate risks associated with operational activities.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other organizations, such as pre-sales, NPI, NDO, and GND’s.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and partners, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Vendor Management: Prime escalation POC for supplier delivery issues and crew fulfillment, crew capacity forecasting, entry into allocation model and Supplier Information Management tool, ensuring crew demand is supplied per expected supplier mix, supplier pool vetting and selection based on scope requirements. Work hand in hand with Control Tower function to set allocation strategy with stakeholder inputs, document the allocation strategy in support of ABC compliance and ensure supplier certifications are setup in Compliance.
You will bring:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Operations, Engineering, Computer Science, IT or other science discipline.
At least 8 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
Extensive experience in large scale construction services with Proven technical expertise in network construction, roll-out and operations.
Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire high-performing teams.
Well-developed understanding of contracts, scheduling, and finance/expense management.
Track record of consistently delivering superior business results; decisive and clear thinking.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills; solutions-oriented; able to balance short / long-term.
Strong understanding of telecom operations, including Construction, Integration and crew operations.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with advanced storytelling abilities to support in change management activities.
Experience with digital platforms and process digitization is a plus.
