The Nursing Assistant is responsible for performing direct and indirect patient care tasks as delegated by the Registered Nurse. The Nursing Assistant functions under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. The primary responsibility of the Nursing Assistant is to provide basic patient cares such as bathing and hygiene elimination and toileting nutrition feeding and hydration and ambulation and positioning. The Nursing Assistant supports patient safety and patient satisfaction by performing regular patient rounds on the nursing unit and effectively communicating with all team members.
Nurse Interns will learn sterile technique and learn to Scrub surgical procedures. They will learn surgical instrumentation and how to assist the surgeon during surgery.
Responsibilities:
Helping to clean the OR suites in between cases (Room Turnover)Pulling supplies and instruments for next days casesEquipment management (properly stored and clean)Setting up OR suites for the next dayLearning to scrub surgical cases with the goal of eventually independently scrubbing surgical casesThe Fundamentals of Nursing and BLS is required. Nurse interns will work full time in summer months as a scrub, and then PRN until graduation. Weekday hours are available for this role.
Nursing student graduating in May or December 2025 is preferred.
