We are seeking a Neurosurgical Spine Fellow for a one year fellowship.  The primary clinical responsibilities will be at The Emory Clinic, Inc., and Emory University Hospitals but may also be responsible for patients at Grady Memorial Hospital as needed.  Involvement in residency training and medical student education is required.  The clinical expectations and academic goals associated with this position are generally summarized as follows:
 

The Neurosurgical Spine Fellowship is a 12 month training program.The Fellow will serve as an attending neurosurgeon in the Emory Affiliated Hospitals System and The Emory Clinic, Inc.Contribution to the clinical education, training and development of neurological surgery residents through clinical rotations and department conferences is required.Participation in the development of novel and collaborative clinical or basic science research specific to neurosurgical oncology is expected.Participation in periodic independent neurosurgery call coverage practice activities is also required.

 
As with all other programs in the department, teaching is an important mission for this program.  Our educational activities and training programs are paramount and vital for the success of our Department’s mission.  All fellows are expected to serve as role models for our trainees as exhibited by attendance at Grand Rounds, conference leadership and participation in departmental functions.
