The role you’ll contribute:

The Neurodiagnostic Specialist I is an essential member of the neurodiagnostic team, responsible for performing all aspects of quality routine and some advanced neurodiagnostic procedures commensurate with skills/training and in accordance with technical standards set forth by the American Society of Neurodiagnostic Technologies (ASET) and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS). Observes the Advent Health Corporate Compliance Plan as well as all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. This role requires a strong foundation in neurodiagnostic technology and the ability to work effectively under supervision and is required to maintain and improve levels of clinical and technical knowledge across all disciplines of the neurodiagnostic field. Participates in the department quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

· Perform routine neurodiagnostic procedures with appropriate documentation, observes patients, troubleshoots physiological and environmental artifact and utilizes appropriate resources.

· Assist in more complex diagnostic tests and procedures as part of a team.

· Monitor patients in Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMUs) while adhering to protocols and procedures.

· Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process using age-appropriate guidelines and ensuring comfort and safety during tests.

· Analyze and document preliminary data, reporting findings to supervising specialists or physicians.

· Recognize and takes appropriate actions to respond to evolving patient care needs.

· Maintain and calibrate neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

· Participate in continuous education to upgrade skills and knowledge in neurodiagnostic technology.

· Attend monthly staff meeting and complete monthly competency quizzes.

· Perform additional duties as requested.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

· Ability to perform quality END procedures to include but not limited to EEG and continuous EEG following department expectations and ACNS guidelines.

· Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their families, hospital staff, nurses, physicians and other health care professionals.

· Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in the health care industry.

· Familiarity with standard neurodiagnostic procedures and equipment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

· One (1) year of experience in neurodiagnostics, OR completion of a formal on-the-job training program OR completion of at least 75% of courses or graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostics program.

· Ability to communicate well and able to work in a stressful situation.

· Eligible to sit for REEGT Board Examination through ABRET

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :

· Basic Life Support (BLS)
