Job Description

The Neurodiagnostic Tech IV performs a wide variety of advanced neurodiagnostic studies and evaluation of brain waves for EEG, epilepsy long-term EEG/video monitoring, quantitative EEG intensive care unit monitoring, and ambulatory EEG. This role has two tracks – Advanced Technologist and Technologist Reader. The Neurodiagnostic Tech IV supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team. Also, this role proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience

5 or more years of experience in broad range of neurodiagnostic testing2 or more years of experience independently monitoring, writing prelim reports, serving as neurodiagnostic tech in surgical setting

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree or higherGraduated from a CCAHEP accredited neurodiagnostic program

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Summary

ABRET Certified Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT) in addition to a second neurodiagnostic credential including but not limited to CLTM (REQUIRED)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to demonstrate competencies key to the position within 6 months of employment

Job Responsibilities

May be responsible for serving as charge technologist requiring prioritization and delegation of orders to appropriate neurodiagnostic staff.Demonstrates effective verbal and written documentation.Performs department core and job-specific basic competencies and pursues knowledge of advanced competencies.Maintains professional development, continually identifying professional opportunities which are mutually determined by employee and manager.Supports development of other neurodiagnostic technologists by planning and conducting education sessions.Supports manager and department by assisting in administrative duties as assigned.May perform advanced neurodiagnostic studies in the inpatient and outpatient setting, including but not limited to sEEG, grid placement, and ictal SPECT.May monitor continuous EEG studies to recognize and denote any abnormal activity in accordance with ACNS guidelines.May evaluate video recording concordantly with brain wave pattern for routine EEG and continuous video monitoring, marking study for physician reader.May develop prelim report of routine EEGs and long-term studies for physician reader as assigned.May evaluate multiple trends of quantitative EEG.
