Neurology (EEG) Technician I
**Position Summary:** This is a clinical position where the incumbent performs neuro-diagnostic testing including EEG studies in both the outpatient ambulatory and inpatient settings. Incumbent must be technically adept, have excellent patient care and customer service skill sets, and be able to work with severely ill pediatric patient populations. **Position Requirements:** **Education:** High School graduate or equivalent. Preparatory coursework in sciences such as biology, anatomy, physiology and/or chemistry. Graduate of approved program in Neurophysiology/Neuro-diagnostics preferred. **Experience** : A minimum of 1-5 years of clinical experience in an inpatient or ambulatory setting that includes performance of Neurophysiology/Neuro-diagnostics, including EEG's required. Must have basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Must be able to work with ill and uncooperative children. Bilingual in Spanish or Southeast Asian languages preferred. **Certification Required:** Current American Heart BLS Certification Required. Must pass department administered proficiency testing. Must complete National Certification testing within 2 years of hire. **Physical Requirements:** Sit: Up to 6 hours/day Stand/Walk: 4-6 hours Bend/Stoop: Up to 6 hours Reach: Up to 6 hours Rep Use of UE: Up to 6 hours Lift/Push/Pull: 50 pounds, over 50 pounds with assistance or equipment This job requires the ability to hear alarms, clients and/or instruction.
