We are looking for a Neuromorphic Processor Verification Lead specializing in micro-architecture and logic design to join Intel’s Neuromorphic Computing Lab to lead the front-end design implementation of Intel's future commercial neuromorphic processors and IP.
Neuromorphic computing takes inspiration from biological systems to realize vastly more efficient and adaptable AI than what is possible with today's conventional computing architectures. At the hardware level, gains are achieved by applying neuro-inspired principles such as asynchronous event-based operation, integration of memory and compute, and massive parallelism. Intel's Loihi series of neuromorphic processors have advanced the frontier of application research with over 100 peer-reviewed publications from a Loihi developer community comprising over 250 research groups worldwide. These results confirm the promise of the technology to bring breakthroughs in energy efficiency and performance to AI tasks spanning perception, planning, learning, and control from the edge to the data center.
As the group’s VerificationLead, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Plan and oversee the functional validation of Intel’s next generation neuromorphic cores, chiplets, and IP from architecture modeling through post-silicon.
Workwith a small yet elite team of design, verification, and EDA engineers who are comfortable contributing across all levels of silicon engineering and have advanced the forefront of asynchronous and neuromorphic design for many years.
Collaborate with a broader interdisciplinary team spanning system and software architects, AI framework developers, application engineers, and algorithms researchers working to advance Intel's neuromorphic technology out of the lab and into a wide range of commercial products.
In addition to the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will also have exhibited the behavioral skills below:
Skill to learn and adapt new design and computing concepts in relation to the many novel properties of neuromorphic computing.
Eagerness to learn and a passion for innovation are essential prerequisites for success in this role.
QualificationsYou must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of related experience, OR Master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or other STEM related field.
6+ years of experience in the design and validation of IP blocks, product chips, and hardware systems.
5+ years of experience in verification and functional validation of ASICs, SoCs, or processors.
2+ years of experience leading verification projects with ownership spanning test plan development through coverage-driven testing and debug.
Preferred Qualification:
Experience in UVM/OVM and constrained random validation methods.
Experience with architectural simulations, e.g. with Simics or SystemC.
Experience with FPGA emulation.
Experience with non-standard verification methodologies, such as testbenches written in C/C++ or Python.
Experience with deep learning hardware and software frameworks
