Summary :The Neuropsychologist provides neuropsychological assessment and consultation services, and is an integral team member of the patient’s care team.Job Description:KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Follows the code of conduct of the American Psychological Association and adheres to all codes of ethics as defined.
Assesses and evaluates patients who overtly display symptoms of brain injuries or who are suspected of having abnormal brain functioning.
Demonstrates understanding of current and empirically validated treatments and best practice protocols in treatment, and utilizes these in own practice. Assists in the development of evidence-based treatment protocols including outcome studies regarding treatment effectiveness.
Interprets and evaluates testing data to improve service quality and patient care through process observation using problem solving tools to identify potential areas for improvement.
Incorporates quality into a patient’s individualized care plan. Recognizes patient and family education needs with regard to the plan of care. Assesses patient and family readiness to learn and organizes and executes individualized education plan. Evaluates the plan and works collaboratively with the patient, family, and care team.
Provides neuropsychological testing and competencies evaluations and diagnoses medical and mental health disorders.
Provides education and mentoring for students, interns, residents, observers, volunteers, and/or new team members to support their development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current State of Wisconsin Psychologist License through the National Registry of Psychologists
Doctorate of Psychology
Formal training in Adult Neuropsychological Assessment
Two years Post – Doctoral Fellowship Clinical Neuropsychology
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility
Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
Information about the position:
We currently have one Neuropsychologist on staff.
We average about 6 evaluations a week.
Primarily working with the adult population
CME training, which includes time off for the training.
We have Psychometrists on staff who will conduct the testing.
