Job Description

The Neurosciences Project Management Intern will play a key role in supporting the department’s operational and strategic goals. They will lead a subset of initiatives focused on improving patient access and contribute to the Neurosciences strategic planning process by synthesizing data, developing actionable recommendations, and preparing data visualizations and presentation materials. Additionally, they will create a comprehensive visual flowchart detailing clinical pathways, collaborating with content experts and IT team members to ensure accuracy and clarity.

Project/position description:

Support Neurosciences Patient Access Goals: Neurology Waitlist Reduction

Project Goals: Contribute to achieving patient access targets with a focus on reducing Neurology’s patient waitlistTasks: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement improvements in patient scheduling and waitlist management; own and manage a single project phase or workstream aligned with the overall project objectivesDeliverables: Project plan and progress updates for the assigned workstream; documented improvements or recommendations for sustaining waitlist reductions

Support Neurosciences Strategic Planning and Roadmap Development

Project Goals: Develop a data-driven recommendation to inform prioritization and goal setting for the Neurosciences Strategic RoadmapTasks:  Analyze data and create clear, impactful visualizations to inform strategic decision-making; develop preliminary recommendations based on data synthesis and analysis; prepare and present findings and recommendations to Neurosciences leadershipDeliverables: A set of data visualizations (e.g., charts or graphs); a written or slide-deck summary of preliminary recommendations; presentation materials for stakeholders

Build a Visual Flowchart of EEG Data and Equipment Pathways

Project Goals: Clearly outline the process of data travel for EEG studies (e.g., Citrix, Persyst) and the equipment used at each stage (e.g., review stations, archiving stations)Tasks: Meet with content experts in Neurophysiology and IS&T to understand current workflows, technical processes, and system integrations; combine details from these meetings into a clear, user-friendly flowchart or visual diagramDeliverables: Finalized flowchart or visual diagram detailing EEG data and equipment workflows; documentation of key takeaways or insights from meetings with stakeholders

Qualifications:

Progression toward graduate degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, etc.) in a healthcare related fieldStrong work ethic and demonstrated initiativeStrong writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsSolid process, analytical, problem solving and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Education

College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field

Job Responsibilities
