The purpose of this position is to provide proactive support for Financial Professionals and New Business & Underwriting team members by acting as owners of life, health, and annuity new business cases and striving to maximize the number of cases issued and placed. As the primary point of contact for designated Thrivent Advisor Groups (TAGS), this individual will champion key issues related to new business cases using strong communication skills, business knowledge and understanding of New Business & Underwriting goals. Case Managers must cultivate business relationships with Financial Professionals and other members of their team, as well as New Business & Underwriting team members and teams throughout the organization.
Case Managers will also provide just in time training and be champions of change, supporting field members and internal business partners on new technology and corporate changes.
This role requires a deep understanding of what financial professionals need to be successful, in addition to a broad depth of new business issue and underwriting knowledge. Individuals in this role must have the ability to quickly understand and research unusual and complex questions with undefined parameters and produce accurate responses.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Case Manager will encounter issues involving Life, Health, and Annuity business lines and will need expertise in both.The Case Manager will take phone calls, emails, Salesforce, and skype messages from the field across all business lines and take accountability to determine case handling in terms of accuracy and timeframe.The Case Manager will manage the life cycle of each application to service standards, working closely with financial professionals, issue reps and underwriters while demonstrating an ownership mentality. They must display critical thinking and proactive case management skills throughout the new business process.Provide administrative support to underwriters through the procurement of requirements necessary to underwrite and issue a life or disability income insurance case and communication with the field related to the underwriting decision.
Act as Relationship Manager for designated Thrivent Advisor Groups and serve as the main contact point for communication regarding their applications. This involves frequent interaction with a wide range of internal and external contacts.Work with multiple cases at one time, prioritize workload with little direction.Provide regular updates on key/critical cases to various audiences, including team members, financial associates and corporate and field leaders.Actively share service and process improvement ideas, contributing to a culture of “continuous improvements”.Required Job Qualifications
