New Equipment Inventory Supervisor

The New Equipment Inventory Supervisor is responsible for inventories to include forecasting, ordering, maintaining accountability, as well as disposition of all work tools for the machine sales division. This position will provide training and support to the Inventory Coordinators, Specialists, Inventory Control Technicians, and Sales Support Coordinators. Specific areas of responsibility include:  1) Assist Sales Management in meeting machine and work tools revenue; 2) PINs goals and objectives of the machine sales department; 3) meeting and/or exceeding the financial goals of the Machine Division.

 

Essential Functions:

Hire, develop, evaluate, and influence effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS) Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission Monitor and align the inventory operations function’s daily business practices with the company’s core values, mission and vision so that they are effectively and consistently put into action Oversee inventory and financial goals to support the Machine Divisions strategic plan in order to optimize profitability and continued organizational success and stability Select, evaluate, train and develop inventory operations staff (through consistent use of selection processes and situational leadership practices) to develop values-based decision-making skills and ensure human resource availability within the sales department Collaborate with the Machine Inventory Manager in reviewing the inventory accounts to facilitate inventory orders and stock levels that meet Machine Division volume and customer needs Engage with Caterpillar representatives from the BCP, GC&I and Paving teams to ensure a working and collaborative relationship is sustained Review and remain knowledgeable of required Caterpillar paid for performance matrix to ensure HOLT is achieving desirable goals Maintain and verify all order activities from CAT and non-CAT vendors to ensure machine specs match orders submitted and align with HOLT standard configurations Oversee the detail orientation of new machines to include ordering, receiving inventory, processing required documentation and reporting to CAT Assist the demand planner perform monthly inventory forecasting through the Dealer Planning Application (DPA) Continuously update machine model maintenance to ensure transit and prep time on new machines is accurate and connecting with Caterpillar systems Identify and communicate new machine product lines to include phase in and phase out, new product announcements, PDC availability and update the machines sales library accordingly Compile and reconcile quarterly cycle counts; Review the submission of monthly cycle counts completed Work safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

 

A high school diploma and/or GED required; or combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and abilities  Minimum of three years of supply chain management and equipment/work tool knowledge required and at least one year management preferred  Certification of ability to operate a forklift is required

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Travel:

A valid driver’s license is required

 

Physical Requirements:

Employee is required to stand, walk, kneel, squat, crawl, bend, and twist Employee may have to climb and/or lift to and over 50 pounds  Visual requirements are constant  Mobility of walking, standing, and bending is frequent  Dexterity, hearing, and talking requirements are constant  Visual ability to observe employees in the workplace, analyze operations and detect situations of concern 

 

Work Environment:

This position is in the office, warehouse, and shop area  Employee is exposed to dirt, dust, heat, cold, noise and vibration, fumes and odors, wetness, and humidity, and sometimes darkness  Due to the nature of the environment, employee is exposed to potential mechanical, chemical, electrical and fire hazards
