Job Summary

Our Nurse Residency Program and Specialty specific orientation programs will provide you with increased clinical support and education during orientation.

Cooley Dickinson Hospital also offers a Mentorship program which is designed to help transition to a professional nursing role during your first year of clinical practice. The program fosters trust, vulnerability, empathy, and respect. It begins at the conclusion of your orientation and lasts throughout your first year here at Cooley. You will be paid an hour of time biweekly to meet with a mentor of your choice, at a time most convenient for you, about topics that are most important to you. Benefits to these mentorship programs include increased confidence, satisfaction, and collaborative relationships.

Nurse Residency Program placements are based on available positions at the time of hire, and may include:

Telemetry
Resource (Float) Pool
Emergency Department
Operating Room
Inpatient Behavioral Health

Qualifications

Program Requirements:

Registered Nurse graduate from an accredited school of nursingCurrent American Heart Association BLS CertificationDemonstrated excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills requiredAdditional unit-specific education and experience requirements are outlined in the Addendum for each unit.
