As a new graduate OR Surgical Tech, you are crucial in the efficiency and overall success of operations. You will assist the surgical team by acting as the primary scrub tech who handles the instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures, ensuring sterilization at every point of the process.

ATTRIBUTES
Completed a military surgical technology program -OR-
Grand-Fathering Clause: Provides evidence he or she was employed as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring between 12/31/10 – 12/31/14. -OR-
Graduated from a Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)- or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)- accredited program with a Surgical Technology major AND holds and maintains Certified Surgical Technologist certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)within 12 months of graduation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
CME maintenance: Must maintain at least 15 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) per yearSupply check & sterilization: Ensure all supplies, instrumentation and equipment are available and sterilized for surgical procedures and proper operationOrientation: Assist in guiding medical/nursing students and technicians to the unitDraping & maintenance: Assist with draping procedures and demonstrates vigilance in maintaining overall sterility in the operation roomUnit development: Help identify goals and objectives of the unitEDUCATION:
