Job Title: New Model Weld Simulation Engineer Job Description We are expanding our Weld New Model Equipment team for New Model Simulation Engineers. This position focuses on design, equipment, and manufacturing feasibility and simulation. You will support the analysis of drawings from feasibility through the design phase to achieve a product that can be manufactured within the factory’s capabilities while working with MMC’s to prepare and execute the trial phase of new model development. You will also complete all required tasks and targets given by the Group Lead and project leadership. Responsibilities + Support feasibility studies and detailed confirmations of new technologies, design concepts, and manufacturing processes, and report back internally. + Identify past model problem history and apply or suggest countermeasure activities based on best practices. + Collaborate internally to develop the most efficient manufacturing process. + Ensure a robust design for mass production by combining manufacturing requirements, factory characteristics, and project targets. Check 3D data to assure development. + Create and maintain all necessary documents for process, quality, robot/equipment, and training throughout new model development. + Support physical verification of the vehicle during initial production at the factory, understanding factory capabilities and constraints. + Engage in collaborative problem-solving activities with team members from your group and other business units, enhancing your capabilities through training and sharing experiences with senior members. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering + CATIA or 3D Modeling experience + New Model Automotive experience (4-8 years) Additional Skills & Qualifications + CATIA V5 experience is highly preferred + Automotive Supplier experience is highly preferred Work Environment You will be working on a team of about 64 engineers in the PEDx team, engaging in an R&D environment but also working on-site at the plants.
