New Partnership Manager

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they’re likely to die from.

Our Corporate Partnerships team plays a key role in our mission by maximizing our collaboration and income raised from companies. We look to build long term mutually beneficial partnerships with companies based in the UK, across a range of fundraising mechanics including charity of the year, cause related marketing, affinity, sponsorship, gift in kind donations, corporate events and project funding.

We are seeking an ambitious New Partnerships Manager with a strong track record of developing new relationships, curiosity of finding out about companies, identifying shared ambitions and securing collaborations.

You will be responsible for: 

Working with the New Partnerships team, to contribute to the building and implementation of a new and ambitious sector strategy for securing new high-value partnerships. Build, maintain and convert a strong pipeline of high-value partnership opportunities across selected sectors and sub-sectors, based on detailed and robust prospecting. Meeting and exceeding financial targets by securing high-value multi-year partnerships with prospects that will deliver in-year and long-term income. To develop bespoke, creative and robust cultivation and stewardship plans and activities for organisations, and to collaborate with teams and departments to engage top prospects.  Undertake prospect research to identify suitable high value target companies and key contacts within those companies. Be a team player, collaborating with the wider corporate partnerships, P&P and wider fundraising teams, and building strong relationships at all levels across the charity. 

Key Criteria:

Experience of winning new business across a range of income streams, including Charity of the Year, CRM and sponsorship.  Experience of identifying, prospecting and securing commercial relationships with corporate organisations in a charitable and / or commercial setting. Evidence of writing proposals, delivering pitches and winning corporate partnerships. Experience of managing complex relationships with multiple stakeholders. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate to a wide range of audiences at all levels. Creative thinker who can come up with innovative ideas for company approaches.  Excellent organisational and time management skills with a professional and methodical approach.  This role will also require a willingness to travel across the UK.

Salary:  £35,530 -39,474 depending on experience plus LWA £3,500 if applicable.

Contract:  Permanent 

Based: This role is predominantly home-based and can be based anywhere within the UK.   For those within commutable distance to London, you will have the option of working flexibly between home and in our modern open plan offices in Embassy Gardens.
