We are seeking a New Patient Triage Registered Nurse to work at Aspirus Spine and Neurology Institute in Wausau, WI to join our team!

This position is a desk RN position that reviews new patients that are referred to the Neurology specialty for the system. This RN will work in Epic, and work Epic work ques, reviewing the reason for the referral to Neurology, reviewing medical records, diagnosis, etc., and placing calls to patients for follow-up questions as needed to further explain symptoms the patient may be having or ask questions related to imaging the patient may have had. The RN will work with multiple Neurology dept teams to get the patient set up to see the most appropriate neurology provider in the correct region. The RN will establish relationships with provider teams, as they will be sending patients to review for urgency. Our goal is to get the patient seen by the correct provider, in the correct location, in the timeliest manner. The RN will do some scheduling and requesting of medical records.

HOURS: This position is Full Time; 1.0 FTE or 80 hours per pay period. Hours are flexible during the day ranging from 7am - 5pm Monday-Thursday and 7am - 3pm Fridays. 

Experience/Qualifications

Knowledge of patient care standards normally acquired through graduation of an accredited R.N. program.Two years medical experience preferred.Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.Current BLS certification or obtained within 60 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
