Role and Responsibilities
The NPI Engineer I is responsible for providing technical analysis of new products being launched in North America by assisting with the concept development, preparation, and critical review of technical reports, documents, test procedures, user guides, and manuals. Utilizing common project management principles, the NPI Engineer I will manage multiple projects, update reports, and inform management regarding product launches.
Conduct a teardown analysis of all phones to identify potential improvements in product design and address repair serviceability challenges during reverse engineering. Provide a detailed analysis and report to the R&D team based on these findings.
Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance repair productivity for the next generation and improve product performance quality.
Communicate with Service Engineering management to ensure overall readiness for product launches.
Work with Product Management to establish product roadmaps and launch timelines.
Identify potential performance issues and share relevant technical and repair information with the appropriate SEA personnel. Share insights and experiences related to product troubleshooting, failure analysis, diagnostics, and repair techniques with repair technicians and supervisors to boost repair productivity and inform future designs that enhance product performance quality.
Skills and Qualifications
Must be fluent in both English and Korean, as heavy communication with the headquarters in Korea is required.
2 to 4 years of directly related work experience is required.
Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a complex work environment are essential.
Comprehensive use of Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Capability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with various levels within the company and with external contacts.
Must be able to influence others for acceptance and approval, as well as provide technical clarifications. Ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources. Must be skilled in preparing spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and tables of information, and prioritizing multiple work assignments.
Competence in reading, critically reviewing, and providing written feedback on technical documents. Must be able to prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures, and repair information for technical products
Must be able to work under minimal supervision and guidance, identify production team goals, and complete individual work assignments within established deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred.
